Some more captures from a couple of nights ago

Had decent seeing and transparency a couple of nights ago so used the AA RC6 for a quick session (very quick, thanks to this great Lodestar setup, now with added GOTO).

NGC40 or the Bowtie nebula, a very nice planetary nebula in Cepheus. This might be bright enough to try without a reducer to get large image scale.

NGC185 Elliptical Galaxy in Cassiopeia with the dark line clearly visible:

Same image but more stretched to revel faint galaxy in lower left:

NGC147 (image incorrectly labelled) another elliptical close to NGC185, although similar visual magnitude to NGC185 it was much fainter to image.

Both NGC185 and NGC147 are satellite galaxies of M31. Hope you enjoyed.

Hi Don, yes I was using the Celestron F6.3 reducer on the RC6. Yes I was thinking of using the C8 native (assuming I can find the nebula and assuming there is not too much drifting) which should give three times the image scale. It will probably be a nightmare though!

Very nice Rob. I really like the bow tie. I have observed a few objects with the RC6 and 0.5x reducer and added them to the list of things to go back and look at without the reducer or use my other scope to get a more detailed look. Overall I like the wider FoV I get with the 0.5x reducer, I have become a fan of seeing things against the background of stars as its more akin to the eyepiece as i tend to observe at lower powers.
