Clatteringshaws Milky Way

A wide field image taken from the car park of Clatteringshaws Loch in The Forest Of Galloway a few weeks ago. We spent the night there in our Motorhome on the way back from a tour of the Outer Hebrides and we were so lucky to have such a beautiful clear night. Great venue!

EOS 6D, 30sec @ ISO 3200, Samyang 14mm f 2.8 @ f2.8.

That's a gorgeous vista -  with the glow on the Loch.

Thank you Andrew. I think the glow is a bit of light pollution from Newton Stewart.

Great place for a night in the Motorhome. I was up half the night soaking it up. Was a drowsy drive home to Lancashire the morning after...

Very nice shot. I took my Astrotrac up to the highlands last September but to be honest it just never got dark at night. In fact i stood on skye one evening taking sunset shots at 10.45 p.m. Would love to go back in winter but would you ever get clear nights in winter?
