Focuser upgrade for Skywatcher 250px

Recommended Posts

We put a Moonlite on our 300 Flextube, and we now use it on our 400P after getting the installation kit to switch it to the 16 inch scope. It's a real joy to use. No regrets buying it. It just works. It handles a heavy Paracorr 2 and Ethos 21mm eyepiece with ease.

Hi,

I have a moonlite

If you plan to use only single eyepieces then the moonlite is great.

However if you intend to use heavy eyepieces such as nagler with coma correctors. The its not ideal as the weight is on the edge of its ability. And will cause the sides if its painted barrel to be worn down to metal.

For light binoviewers such as baader maxbright its ok. But i dont recommend it for heavy bino such as the mark 8. As the added weight makes the focuser "heavy"... It nolonger operates smoothly.

The feathertouch will be far better for heavy setup, but it costs a lot more but is worth it if you love your hobby.
