Registax file limit?

Andrew INT

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

In the past then ever I have dabbled with planetary imagery with a small webcam, I have been ok using Registax. However, I last AVI file for Saturn was 2.05 Gb. Registax simply froze each time. Do you think this is a hardware or a software problem?

If it is a software issues, can anyone recommend some (free) software which can stack such a file. Failing that, if it is my laptop unable to process a large file, is there any software which can easily trim the AVI files down a bit?

Many thanks for any advice.

regards,

Andrew

It's not Registax, i quite often have AVI files over 3Gb.

There is a tick box that you need to tick if the files are over a cetain size 1Gb I think it is.

At the top, about the middle

EXTENDED MODE

DEFAULT

VISTA

I have a tick on default (windows 7 machine).

USE EXTENDED MODE

AVI>2Gb

AVI>1Gb

NEVER

ALWAYS

I have checked the ALWAYS option.

Hope that this helps.

Cheers

You're quite right. I use both R5 and R6 and those settings aren't there in R6.

I had never noticed that. I've had a search through the various options and cannot see that at all. So Apologies, looks like my suggestion is no good for you.
