First Time Lapse Movie

Recommended Posts

The shutter speed and interval length was very variable depending on the subject. For the moon shots with a 200mm lens I used 1/30s with 10 s intervals. The crescent moon setting was with a 50mm lens and think I used 5s exposures with 20 s intervals. Orion was 30 s exposures spaced by 25 s. The ISS shots were at high ISO 4s exposures 2 s intervals. The irridium flare was the most challenging which needed high ISO again, 2s exposures 1 sec apart. It's really fun doing these and easier than you think (it would have to be easy otherwise I could not do it!).

Sounds like a lot of effort but the results are very good.

At least you don't need to spend ages trying to get the guiding to work though ;)
