Plain vanilla Messier 101

Wow, two images in one week, I think I'll have a lie down in a minute.  This is 36 x 300 sec L and 12 x 300 sec each RGB with an Atik 428EX through my Hyperstar.  There is no hocus pocus going on here just plain DBE, colour calibration, SCNR, histogram transformation and a little bit of curves adjustment.  I wanted to see how minimal processing would work out but even so I had a massive Homer Simpson moment during processing but decided to leave well alone as it looked quite nice, there's a major prize for correctly guessing what I did (answers on a postcard to Wally of the week competition).

Great image Mike, you have huge amount of data there so perhaps you should try a bit of hocus pocus when you feel like it.  Cherish your dark skies BTW.

Cheers chaps, A.G, I will be doing a reprocess without the mystery clanger and with some masking and noise reduction, it will be interesting to note the difference.
