My First Solar Prominence Animation

Shot on the 21/5/2014 between 10:05-11:13 BST between clouds and frequent gusts of wind, all from my garden before work.

The video gets a little blurry towards the end as the seeing conditions worsened and clouds frequently got in the way.

The frames that make up this sequence, where produced from 109, ten second long videos, each comprising of 865 frames in themselves. This meant that I shot 46.8GB's worth of data to make this short sequence - needless to say, a large HDD is needed for this kind of work.

This is my first attempt at a solar prominence animation, and I must admit to being hooked and looking forward to producing more.

Equipment and Processing:
Coronado Solarmax II 60 BF10
Meade 2x Shorty Barlow
ASI120mm Camera

Registax: Image Stacking
Photoshop: Image Sharpening and Colour
