celestron CG-5 mount problem?

hi there. .I have the GOTO CG-5 MOUNT and it has a slight wobble..not sure why. can you remove tge celestron badge to see if a nut needs tightening or can you remove the latitude scale..im at a slight loss as ro why its shoogly

Which direction is the wobble? Along the mount or across it? I'd check the mount base is sitting flat and level on top of the tripod. Also ensure that both latitude bolts are done up firm (but not too tight). More detail describing exactly how it wobbles would help zero in on the problem.

its not the legs..its the mounting upon the legs..if you get my drift..where the dec/ra is

are all your bolts tight but not over tight also check the center bolt is as tight as it can go
or like the OP put a washer in

Well I think that's the problem oldpink....how do I get into the centre bolt?..one end is covered by the celestron badge and the other by the altitude marks abd I don't want to start hacking away

I think oldpink was refering to the vertical bolt that holds the eq head to tripod. If it is the horizontal bolt the holds the two parts of the eq head together you should be able to soften the glue holding the end caps by applying a little bit of heat from a hair dryer.

My CG5 rocks if the centre bolt (the large one that goes through the accesory tray into the mount) isn't tightend enough to the mount head, as others have suggested.
