celestron CG-5 mount problem?

Recommended Posts

Which direction is the wobble? Along the mount or across it? I'd check the mount base is sitting flat and level on top of the tripod. Also ensure that both latitude bolts are done up firm (but not too tight). More detail describing exactly how it wobbles would help zero in on the problem. :)

I think oldpink was refering to the vertical bolt that holds the eq head to tripod. If it is the horizontal bolt the holds the two parts of the eq head together you should be able to soften the glue holding the end caps by applying a little bit of heat from a hair dryer.
