Webcam Help.

Recommended Posts

What amazing results, and such great quality of photos. I just need to find one that is mac compatible as i dont really want to use bootcamp

This is the topic, but sadly the modification step images of the OP don't show anymore.

You could try contact the OP of that topic and ask if he still has the images of the modification steps and mail them to you With instructions:

As I said in previous post. I booted in OSX for you and tested my Microsoft HD Cinema webcam on OSX and it works in both Skype and Facetime. As I use this current one for Skype all the time, to talk to my family in Holland.

I just checked by booting in OSX and my Microsoft HD Cinema webcam was detected and worked in both Skype and Facetime. So that's a start at least.

This webcam is fairly cheap and can be easily modified. You just need a cheap / old 1.25" Eye piece you don't use (or just buy bogstandard cheap plosl EP) screw the black lens holder from the aluminium barrel.

Then the 1.25" aluminium barrel can be used to fit the Microsoft HD Cinema webcam after modification.

There should be some good guides out there. It's basically removing the lens Assembly and carefully black out the bright blue led with a black permanent marker pen.

Just seen this thread: http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/171197-help-how-do-i-get-my-macbook-to-recognise-a-lifecam/?hl=mac+webcam#entry1746408

ah, i just need to find out if the Microsoft Lifecam works with the macam driver

GRRRRRR..... /slap you in face! :police:

I think I told you two times now that I booted my MacBook in OSX Mavericks yesterday and tested the Microsoft HD Cinema webcam for you.

It works in both Skype and Facetime without any driver installation.

I did further tests as well now and also downloaded that BTVPro program for example and that one detected the webcam as well and I was able to capture both frames and video.
