Having bought replacement Altitude screws for the HEQ5 from J Rose, I thought I ought to replace the Azi's too. I found a place locally that sell the bakerlite grips (http://www.wdsltd.co.uk/Plastic%20handwheels,%20knobs%20&%20grips/) and thought I'd give them a bell this a.m. I had thought they'd only sell in bulk, but was told I could buy small multiples. Went up there today since I happen to be v close by chance, well any way they gave me the two Knobs rather than charge me and deal with the paperwork, then went to the hardware store (old style) and bought some M6x 35mm Stainless steel bolts (43p) and hey presto !! FANTASTIC ! the grips look superb too, far better then the flimsy ones supplied by Synta !

I went for these in the end,

http://www.wdsltd.co.uk/Plastic%20handwheels,%20knobs%20&%20grips/Hand%20Screws/WDS8100%20Hand%20Knob-Screw%20Kit

and then got some 35mm M6 ST St Hex bolts from a hardware/nut&bolt store (locally).

The fit regards the cap is TIGHT and reqd a lot of pressure, so it ain't going anywhere. If you don't mind a suggestion, opt for 40 0r 45mm M6 hex bolts just to give yourself a little more play. Work really well ! :D

I'm thinking about going back there for 3x of these for the tripod leg locks.
