Polar scope tube blocked?

Super new to GEM's and just wondering why when I take the caps off the spot where a polar scope should go that there appears to be some hardware blocking the view? I thought it should be a straight through shot??

Rotate the dec axis 90 degrees... the hole should appear !!

Rotate the Declination axis and see if a hole appears?

... and make sure your counterweight shaft is fully extended

The counterweight bar may also need to be lowered.

And don't stick your finger in the hole and rotate it .

Thanks guys! Don't know why I didn't figure that one out on my own. Feel slightly embarrassed about that. I still feel daunted by these EQ mounts lol.

Thats what manuals are for, but who reads them....

Have the manual but not the time yet to sit down and read it yet. I have been put on 3rd shift at work lately and work 11pm-7am so I'm either at work or sleeping. Had some time to set the mount up when I got it and that's been pretty much it. 

However it is a lazy Sunday afternoon so that will be on my list of things to do while laying on the couch
