Nikon DSLR Tethering

I was wondering if any Nikon shooters are using some tethering control software to do their AP, and if so what?

I've been playing with DSLRDashboard on the Nexus 7, but it's not quite doing it for me so I'm going to take a look at using the laptop.

i use www.digicamcontrol.com when connection my camera (nikon d3100) to my laptop, pretty good too with some of the higher models it lets you use the 'live view' throu it, hope this helps

DigicamControl is very good and its free!

Maxim DL works with the latest version and the special Nikon patch that can be obtained from Diffraction Limited. But none of 3000-series models are supported.

There are a lot of other programs as well.

I just used a remote control, there cheap and they work, you don't need any laptop or PC either.....this is the one i have for a D80

Those timer remotes works great! I also got one before I control my camera through my computer

No need for any software/computer- use a programmable intervalometer.

I've considered an intervalometer, but I fancy having the live view and remote focus control as well. I might give the remote a go (that will my 3rd!) given they are so cheap.
