Wow lots of welcomes u lot are lovely bunch lol.

I've decided to go for a better mount but will have to save for a few months then few more months after that for a scope! Expensive hobby!!

For the mount I think I will be going for the skywatcher HEQ5 , for now I suppose I can use dslr lens for tracking right?

Looking at all the settings for this mount it looks complex... For those who have it, is it easy to learn to use?

Is there any difference to the pro version apart from having the goto?

And for the scope I'm leaning towards the Skywatcher Evostar 80ED DS-Pro Outfit, my only concern is what if I wanted to take some pics of more distance DSO would an 2x extender still give me a good quality image?

Welcome.........you can get a powerpack from skywatcher do one on the well known auction site for £55.....I wouldn't be without mine.
