Took this last night. Single shot with a little bit of cropping and sharpening. Its the first time I have got some star crosshairs!

Not Bad Tim,  Did you take it in raw or Jpeg,  Raw pics are better for astro pics you get less noise!.

Raw, with in camera noise reduction, and 100 iso, so in theory it should be pretty noiseless. In practice though...

Nice Pic. What equipment and exposure time did you use?

I'm sure you will find that if you push it to ISO 800 and take the usual extra pics with Bias and Flats you will end up with an amazing shot.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be very pleased to get close to what you have.

ISO is fairly irrelevant. I would leave it at 400 to 800. See here:

Hi Paul,

I've just added my equipment to my signature. The exposure was 92secs, no barlow. I'll try bumping up the iso a bit.

I only mentioned ISO as 100 will usually be lower than the camera optimal setting and the main point to capture several frames to process in DSS.
