Sol still busy 8/2/14 10am

Just had what is becoming my usual Saturday a.m. half hour on the sun and it's still very busy indeed. The combined mass of last week is now a sparsely populated group of smaller spots but still really very active.

Just grabbed a couple of hundred frames between squally showers before the next wave of storms arrive.

It looks like this seemingly lackluster solar maximum is having a late splurge

I used to enjoy sketching sunspots when I had my lickle old 60mm refractor. I'm inspired to get back into solar observing!

Very nice sketch 

Bit windy this way and it started raining and the wind really kicked in just before I got to white light. I nearly packed the ED120 away, but glad I held off! The wind calmed a bit once the clouds passed, then I have a brief, lovely view. Nice to see the old AR's one last time, and the newbies aren't too bad at all 

Hope everyone stays safe in the winds and that the rain shows a bit of mercy.
