this is my first solar image, using my new toy from Christmas (Baader solar filter) by use of afocal photography.

Great week to start imaging with a monstrous AR on show , who'd have thought that the only shot of the Sun from the UK today would have come from Glasgow ... !

Not in the least bit jealous ,  no really , honestly , much ...

thanks Steve,

i got up this morning and the sun was streaming thru my living room window. it was the first real opportunity to test out my new solar filter. so i quickly set up next to my couch and coffee pot  

couldn't believe what i saw. it was so captivating. quickly took a few shots. then went out shopping, thinking i'll go back home and set up outside. got home and it was raining! so i spent the afternoon running my images thru registax. quite happy with what i got. my girlfriend doesn't know it yet but she is now not just a night time widow
