I use sky safari plus all the time on my iPad, not sure if on iPod. Paid app, was half price for a while.

Oh, and if you are jailbroken then get SwipeSelection (no space) ASAP off Cydia. It revolutionises the ease of editing text when entering coordinates, etc. The video on Cydia and YouTube explains it beautifully.
