As an astrotrac user (occasionally) you can get a lightweight tripod similar to this

I use a carbon fibre one and i is extremely light but sturdy. You do need to use the polar scope to get polar alignment. i do not like and my back does not like getting down on the ground to polar align so i use the tripod with one section extended and hang my heavy(ish) bag on the hook to give stability.

Usually it doesn't track anything at all, it just rotates at sky-speed like a watch. So good polar alignment is essential. But you can guide on the RA axis as well. Even if it could guide on both axes, good PA is still essential as any error in alignment would show as field rotation.
