Hi Roy and thanks ,when you post ,it says in the right hand corner more reply option ,klick that and add your pics,I to love dso imaging but the moon is always number one

Here is my little effort at capturing the Lunar landscape.

              Image was taken in Oct 2012

It was taken using the Celestron CPC800 on AltAz Mount

a Phillips Toucam(No filters)

Over 1500 frames captured and about 400 stacked using registax6

Final image touched up on PS CS5.

Hi Roy looks good it's hard to get a mix of contrast focus and brightness all those sharpe edges are hard to get right but the odd night it's a winner keep at it ,I like do in dso work but it's shoot and point ,then a few hours of processing the moon for me is just as inch as as a challenge at times

Do you guys track the moon for pictures or take the video as the moon passes over the frame? Bit of  a noob to all this.

You can let it drift just for video but if you want to get images you need tracking of some kind

I need to get into stacking. Using a steam punked pc I struggle with the volume of reference points needed for quality stacking. I guess you shoot avi?

Yes I use avi ,I use registax 5 six is a bit awkward at times give that ago you only have to pick one point of reference and it allows for drift there's some good video tutorials on YouTube if you have your own wheels you are welcome at my place it's only about 20 miles south of you and we could grab so e videos(avi) and go through the stacking ect I have plenty of tea and coffee a decent obsy and image rig your welcome any time
