Mare Nectaris region sketched a few years ago.

My main love in astronomy was sketching. Spending hours outside with a pencil and pad.

Here's a sketch I made of a stack of webcam images.

The region is the well known Mare Nectaris. Sketch was made whilst the moon was 6 days old.

The sketch itself took around 30 minutes to complete.

this hobby really does have something for everyone so much now is spent on imaging and better ways of doing it and here's you come out with something a good as this with a 2p pencil I guess

That's a very good representation of those features Eddie, and as I have remarked before, when seeing efforts like this, those who have the patience to do it, make very good and reliable observers. For the simple reason, you have to study what you look at, in order to reproduce it.

I wonder how many sketches Sir Patrick made of the moon., anyone know?
