I LOVE LIGHT POLLUTION,for one reason...

I've seen the sky with literally no pollution 3 miles up on a plane, and I can say that familiar patterns can be tricky to identify. It's easier to practice the constellations and become familiar under lp, then go to a dark site and find the objects.

I can't say I love light pollution though.

I always find I lose the guide star when I'm on a plane. :/

A view from a truly dark sky IS disorientating, although very, very beautiful, especially if you used to a, shall we say, less than perfect sky

Taken from my holiday cottage in Central France - yes I do struggle with constellations when I'm there and not in the West Mids!

He He, I know just where you're coming from :-) I think the idea of setting up earlier to see the brighter stars appearing is probably better than actually liking light pollution!
