I know this is old news now but i have only been able to ''see'' it,i think.I had'nt a good finder chart so i was just searching the area where it is,i think i have seen it but not sure.I observed a star at around the mag it should be at,there is a planetary neb N.G.C. 6905 just north of it in the same field of my 28mm SWA,is this the nova.

Hi Paul

The planetary nebulae is about a degree to the south of the nova looking at pocket sky atlas - it's too faint for me to see. This is a map a few of us have been using - it's at the top of a asterism - thumbnail about half way down - north up on chart remember.

Two nights ago when i last saw it was around mag 7 and is very close to the mag 8 star on the chart.
