Elephants Trunk - WIP

Hey all.

Think I finally starting to get my head around my CCD now.

This was taken last night. 16x360s with L filter and astronomik CLS.

I was planning on trying to get around 8 hours with this one

when the weather allows.

This was just processed in PS. I have a trial of Pixinsight

so I was planning to give it a try in that aswell later on.

Comments and criticism are most welcome.

Mount: HEQ5

Scope: SW ED80

Camera: Atik 314L+ (cooled to -10c)

The detail is showing through nicely there, you're certainly making that CCD sing!

Perhaps on a personal processing note I'd look at making the trunk a little lighter and bringing out a little more nebulosity, but that's just processing to taste really!

Swag72: Yeah I think you are right now that you mention it. It is abit to dark.

I will see what a reprocess in Pixinsight can do with it (if I don´t go blind by all the options in it that is).

I have added some data now.

Now I have:

36 x 360s L

8x 300 each RGB

So about 5 ½ hours

I am going to add some Ha aswell next clear night.

I think that the stars came out too red, otherwise I am happy with it.

I very much welcome comments on how to make this better.
