You cannot be Sirius B!

There's an interesting article in tha latest Sky and Telescope mag (October) re observing Sirius's companion. What are members' experiences with this? What aperture and magnification was needed and is it feasible with my Celestron 925?

I managed to view it on a few occasions last season with my 12" newt and a magnification of 300x. Your 925 will be well capable of resolving the faint companion providing the viewing conditions are right. I found on a lot of nights it was completely invisible, but when the conditions were favourable, I managed it with little effort. A good tip is to use Rigel A/B as a reference, the seperation is very similar to that of Sirius A/B.

Good hunting :-)
