Had a look earlier today, and spotted some smaller proms. Had another look just now and there are massive proms on the western limb.

WOW, thank you so much for the heads up. Read post 1.55, outside with PST at 1.58 in scudding cloud. Wonderful. It looked like a damselfly to me with a bent body feeding just off the Sun!! What a beautiful prominence. It changed rapidly as I watched it until 2.07 when heavy cloud came over, will look at GONG now and hope that I see it again before it goes. Thanks again. 2.20 [removed word] in the cloud for a few seconds, prominence now 'falling' back down towards the Sun and much less impressive. Gosh, so pleased I happened to see your post in the nick of time! Top marks to you!

2.27 Another brief break in the cloud. My damselfly has now crash-landed onto the Sun!

Had another look and it is very dynamic, almost changing shape as you look. Really interesting.

I guess buying the LOHA was bound to bring an end to the summer,,,,
