M16, NGC6914, IC1396, IC5070 Updates

Well, the clear sky seems to have come to an end (for now). During that spell I was able to top up the above targets - with the pelican being the new addition (and still yet to be finished!). Finally I managed to get them hosted on SGL without errors, it seems to be something to do with the way Ps saves jpg files as when they are saved with paint shop pro, they work fine.

All the subs from the second camera needed new flats since the sensor area had been cleaned while being serviced, and I was very pleased to find the specks of dust that were in the chamber are now gone Ive also been a little more careful with the use of sharpening this time by expanding then feathering the star selection made by noels actions.

Anyway, here are the updates. I havent totted up the total exposure lengths - but its a lot!

They are all very classy images Rob, there's a lovely smooth richness to the textures you have as well. Looks like you've had an extremely productive few weeks collecting the data for these images - great job. They are all good, although if I had to pick a couple that stand out, for me it's the trunk and the Pelican.

Though I do feel ic1396 could be sharper. I'll take a look at it later this evening. My personal fave is the pelican, thats at 3 panes so far (2 hours each). I think it might take 6 to get over to ngc7000.

All these mosaics are seriously starting to make me think about getting a full frame ccd (8300 based).
