Canon Eos RAW problems

Hi guys

I’m messing around with my Canon 1100D and the free APT software from S@N.

I set the camera to take a quick image in RAW mode.

But when I view the image in DSS(ver3.3.2), Iris(ver5.59), and others etc the image is cropped (tall and thin).

The files are CR2

Any help would be appreciated.

Lee, the RAW codec in the DSS version you have is unable to handle to raw files from your camera. You'll need to download the DSS beta

I had a feeling it was something like that.

strange that other programs do not view the RAW image too.

I think that it depends which version of the DCRAW library the application has been built against. Those with an earlier version can't correctly read the files from the 1100D.

Sorry to revive an old ish thread.

But when i take images on the 450D, they come out fine. But raws from the 60D do as the OP has said, come out tall and thin, will this be the same issue, as i would assume that the files are the same from both cameras.

They should have the beta as the main download.. Ran into the same problem back when I got my 1100D.
