Longer M81-82

The clouds didn't disperse till 02.00am her so it was a late start also the wind was a little gusty, seeing was quite good despite having the moon to contend with. The guiding was behaving itself which minimised the odd gusts of wind. Here is the first result of last nights efforts (I'll post the other shortly).

I've just noticed the uploaded image looks rather shoddy. The original image doesn't look like this........anybody else noticed this with their images or is it just me ? :scratch:

The one that I can see looks fine Brian, but they often get degraded during the posting bit. Something to do with compression or summat. Have you got any way of sticking the original on a website?

Getting the red bit in M82 is, as I understand it, quite a feat with an unmodded DSLR, so you did great.

Some excellent detail in there, nicely done. I have taken a reasonable M82 before now but M81 is always a struggle for me for some reason - yours is excellent.

That's A1 at Lloyds Brian, a candidate for you know what maybe, although the judges in no way can be influenced by comments by members as it should be. That is a belter though.

Cracking image very well framed. Great detail in the core of M82 and the arms of M81. Very impressive
