extension tubes?

Recommended Posts

Hi folks:

If an empty barlow can be inserted between the barlow/powermate and the ccd camera for increased image scale......what are the limitations? Can longer extension tubes be used? Thanks

Cheers

Roger,

The barlow extension will work with conventional barlows - not with powermates.

In theory there's no limit, but if you are looking for "extreme" amplification then doubling up barlows or eyepiece projection is the way to go.

Yes, it works fine. Before I had the ASI120MC (which has smaller pixels and therefore doesn't need such image scale) for planetary imaging I used to use a 2.5x barlow, a 40mm extension made from a Skywatcher kit barlow with the lens removed and then my SPC900 camera.
