What can i see tonight?

Hi all

Scope is out, ready and waiting for Saturn at around midnight. Being South to Southwest facing, what else can i expect to see before saturn comes around?

Google fro and down load and install the Stellarium Software, its free once you have installed it run it and input your location, it will show you what you can see from any direction

Have a look for the Beehive Cluster (M44), and M67.

Also, two globular clusters, M3 and M53 are worth a look and should be visible to you.

I assume you've got a starmap of some sort?

Take a look at the "you sky" site. It can be found at: www.fourmilab.ch/yoursky/

All you need to do is fill in your latitude & longitude (which you can look up at google. Hope this helps.

Looking forward to what i might see in the night sky tonight, sadly I will be pointing north so i wont be seeing Saturn.

If you don't have a copy of "turn left at Orion" then I can't recommend it highly enough to get you started
