M81 M82 first light SW80ED neq-6 (my first try in this setup)

so like gina below i also tried yesterday M81/82

the conditions were subpar: high humidity, some clouds, windy, and §$%&/$ cold

but i could see the sky  (after more than 2 weeks!)

Alignment wasn´t that good (polar scope wasn´t aligned due to snowfalls the days before)

so i made 10 30sec images @ ISO 800, maybe ISO 1600 would have been better :lipsrsealed:

with my unmodified EOS 550D

Equipment: SW80/600ED with 0,85 Reducer/Flattner, undguided

used 8 of them, stacked in Photoshop, saved it, got a bluescreen (i´m in need of a new tabletop)

so now the Image (at least M81/82 are recognizeable  )

my PS skills are in need of improvement

thanks for the hints

todo list:

- use the dark frame i´ve made

- equalize historygram (ok for that i have to google at home  )

- better align the polescope

- make a guiding cam out of my 2nd ps3-eye and attach it to the 9x50

at least i was impressed by the difference to my old setup (Konus 114/900 on a eq-2), as i looked at M-42 (also made some shots but had no time to process them)

  • 2 weeks later...

so here my second try with playstation-guiding

the only thing is that i´m so exited bout the whole thing that i can´t focus one object more than one hour, cause i wan´t to see how other objects look like

that what surprised me that i framed also ngc 2959 and ngc 2976...

5x60sec 5x300sec @ iso800 with dark frames
