Starry Night Software

Obviously everyone is out watching the comet for real at the moment but how long does it take for starry night to be updated to show the comet ?? Does anyone know?

It's updated and showing in my copy of SNPP 6.0 if that's any help.

Yes, they seem to be very slow. I updated last night and still nothing. However, all you've got to do is go out look at Perseus and you can't miss it (clouds permitting of course).

I should mention I'm running an older version 4.5.2. Perhaps the lack of updating is just a ploy to get me to spend more money!!

yep, V5 pro works for me too. I had to use the find command (holmes) to get it to display (might be because its much brighter than SN thinks it should be and so isn't displaying it)

I've got Starry Night Enthusiast 4.5, which always makes a big fuss about connecting to the internet and updating its list of comets. And it does indeed seem to be retrieving data of some kind. However, no sign of Holmes at all.

Still, I did get it free with a computer magazine in 2004, so I can't complain too loudly!

Can you not put in in SN yourself if you get the relevant info. All the required data must be available on some website. BAA for example.

I am sure they will update the software to include the comet, but when ?. A lot of comet enthusiasts will want to track it long after naked eye visibility fades.
