Just having a look at some Newtonian scopes

and i saw 3 which are basically the same but have diff letters after it..SKYWATCHER EXPLORER-150 TELESCOPE, SKYWATCHER EXPLORER-150PL TELESCOPE and SKYWATCHER EXPLORER-150PDS TELESCOPE...

what do the letters mean?...apart from around £20

PDS is Parabolic dual speed for parabolic mirror and dual speed focuser.

PL, I don't really know but at a guess it will be parabolic and reckon the L will be for long as the longer focal length in the series as they also do the P.

Yes the 150P if F/5 anf the PL is I think F/8

The Explorer and the Explorer PDS have a focal length of 750mm and the Explorer 150PL has a focal length of 1200mm.

I've recently purchased a 150 on an EQ3-2 mount after years of using less expensive scopes, really good value for money and really impressed with an EQ mount. Please consider the size of scope and mount, much bigger in real life, storage could be an issue. I've now caught the bug and looking to upgrade the EPs, Barlow, books, filters, etc.

I keep finding out I know less and less... This form of an excellent source of info and ALWAYS so friendly and helpful.

Bottom line good all round scope !
