Feb 4, 2013: second attempt at H-alpha

Apart from an attempt at white light, I had a go at H-alpha with the ASI130MM and the Lunt LS35THa. Conditions were not ideal, but I managed to snap some frames, and I found time to stack them this evening. Not perfect, but quite nice for imperfect conditions and a beginner at the helm. 480 frames stacked with AS!2, wavelets in Registax, gradient removed with ImageJ, and curves and combination of prominence and surface image in Registax. Still struggling with some camera artefacts

great start :)

did you captured the hole disc with a single frame of the camera on the lunt or you used some reducer or mosaic?

Thanks! The ASI130MM has a 1/2" video-size chip (same as the QHY5) so the entire disk fits on the chip in one go (the little LS35 has only 400mm focal length).
