webcam imaging software for xp

I've just bought a mega bargain net book for my webcam imaging,when I'm ready to image lol, it's a little 8.9" net book and it's running windows xp , whats the best software to run for video imaging i have registax 6 on my main laptop

is there any others worth putting on the notebook,

this notebook will be soley for astronomy i've even bought red transparent sticky film for night vision,

sorry another question kinda related ..

i also have a meade auto star 494 scope can i run this on xp,,,

I'd say SharpCap is a good bet, too.

+1 vote to SharpCap, it allowed me to squeeze as much as I could out of my webcam
