What can you do with a 30 second sub?

These are quite impressive for such short exposures. Technology we could only have dreamed of years ago!

I couldn't quite believe it considering it was the first time I had used it. It was literally after 10 minutes of setting it up with the software and aligning the scope and I got that M33 image!

This is actually my first and only astropic ever..

This was taken in a whiter than white zone, Celestron 8SE, Canon 600D unmoded, unguided, unprocessed, 20sec @ ISO 800...

Looks like some sort of vignetting effect. By taking some 'flat' images you may be able eliminate some of this.

Am really glad i posted this thread and that people are still finding it interesting or useful. Think it's nice that it might help someone choose some new kit, and give an idea what it might be able to deliver for them. Nothing worse than wanting to try out imaging and having a bit of money to spend, but no idea what scope or mount might be best.

Maybe some of these quick and dirty images might inspire a few people, and help them out too.

Here is a single unprocessed and uncropped shot of the Orion Nebula I took on a moonless night in La Palma (Canary Islands) in March. I was at approximately 500 mt above sea level, I've never seen a sky so dark.

Here are the technical details:
