150PDS or C100ED

Hi Guys n Girls

Just a quick one on the above.

Both for visual with the occasional moon shot for goodwill. Will be used on AZ mount and the C100ED has a DS focuser also.

Which would you have............ and optional if you so choose 1) why & 2) Pros & Cons

I would more than likely go with the 100ED, as it should prove a good match on the AZ mount, the 150 will gather a little more light, but the ed has a little more focal length, knowing you like DSO`s maybe the 150 might prove a little more useful

my vote goes to the 150 PDS. the reasons are:

• wider field of view
  
• much bigger aperture
  
• totally colour free
  
• image not left right reversed
  
• easier to mount as the eyepiece is at the right end
  
• my reputation demands it

As an either / or question it would be the 150PDS.

I have the 150P-SS and use it on an AZ4. It works for me very nicely

My vote is the refractor , things look better thru glass , I love the "airie dics" refractors show on the stars , and the rest is ok .

you get airy disk patterns with newts too if slow enough and a small enough exit pupil.
