OK, indulge me, it's my first ever image of Venus. Only spent about 10 minutes stacking and processing so I'm sure I can get a better one from the data. Lots of high cloud about as well.

Had a play around a bit.

I'll follow my instincts and lower the gain next time...ah well. Still, I'm pretty happy given the capture conditions..i.e. me in my dressing gown with a stinking cold and the scope pointing through the conservatory door..not exactly ideal!

Right conditions or not, it is a very good result. Venus is usually an uncooperative lady even without help from earths mother nature.

Coincidently, I have just put Pete Lawrence's Venus picture on my machine as wallpaper. It is a daylight shot which is on the CD that came with the October issue. Apart from the colour, it is quite similar to your image Tony.
