How much do they weigh ?

While looking for ota's over quite a long period one thing I have noticed is that most if not all retailers do not mention the weight of the scopes available. I would have thought this to be quite an important bit of info when deciding which setup to go for. Come on chaps, add it to the tech spec just to make this already hard decision making a bit easier.

I was under the impression that most of the main manufacturers of scopes include weight details in their specifications, an important piece of information to would be imagers, however, I have noticed on occasions that retailers seem to omit this when advertising the optical products :)

The trick is to look round a few retailers, one will often have the weight.

Just as an example:

Check FLO, Sherwoods Photographic, Rother Valley, Green Witch and Telescope Service.

You will often find that one has included the weight.

One company which does include more detail of the specs of their equipment is Orion (USA). As a number of their scopes and mounts are close clones of Skywatcher ones this can help:

http://www.telescope.com/

The Orion instruction manuals are better than the Skywatcher ones as well and a number of them can be downloaded from the above web site (customer support section).
