legion48
I planned on trying to observe/image Neptune last night, as by 19:30 the clouds had cleared. Neptune wouldn't clear the neighbours house until about 21:30, so I took the opportunity of imaging Almach - Gamma Andromeda - while I waited. Unfortunately, shortly after imaging the double, the clouds rolled in and it started to rain.
Jamie
Not such a bad way to spend your time waiting eh?Superbly imaged if i must say so myself....
themos
I'm really enjoying these! Neptune will be mag 8, will you be able to handle that? Looking forward to seeing the colour difference with the 10'-distant neighbour. It would be great for lazy people like me if you could remind us of the imaging setup with each shot. It will be tough, but I'm looking forward to trying. I imaged Almach with a Toucam (unmodded) at prime focus (x108) and with a x2 barlow (x216). themos
Maybe try for Uranus first, it's mag 5.8 and not too far from Neptune.
legion48
I will, but at the moment it doesn't get past the neighbours house till nearly midnight. That's a bit late when work beckons in the morning.

themos
Yes, Uranus is something like 1hour 40 minutes "behind" Neptune.
Cloudwatcher
Another nice presentation. 8)The primary may well be described as being yellow /white but when I have imaged Almach it takes on a definite 'pinkish' hue which shows up in your shot too.Cheers CW

Astroman
I showed Gamma And to a "drop-in" visitor over the weekend, just after I showed him Alberio. Another nickname for Almach is, "Little Alberio", for reasons that are obvious in the EP. Nice capture!
