Astrozap Dew Shield

Quick question, will I need the 7" and 8" mak/sct dew shield for my 200p?

Having a blonde moment as there are 2 8" sct listed at flo and 1 says notched.

I reckon at least the 8", maybe larger. Skywatcher newtonian tubes are a bit wider than SCT tubes of the same aperture. I'm sure FLO would advise which is the right one.

It says for Newtonians to go for the equivalent sct aperture so o went for the 7"/8" one.

I wanted to make one from a camping mat but the missus insisted I get a proper one as an Xmas present. Bless lol

Contact FLO , i told them the scope size and they recommended the right one

I bought the 10" SCT one for my 10" Orion Optics newtonian. The tube on that is narrower than the Skywatcher 10" which is why I was a little cautious earlier.

She ordered me a 2" skywatcher uhc filter too.

I contacted FLO a while back regarding the same thing, ended up making my own, if you give them the external tube measurement they will tell you exactly which one to get.

The "notch" in the SCT dew shield to to provide clearance for the dovetail(s).....

I had every intention in making my own; in fact I was browsing camping mats when she asked what I was doing looking at those and then asked how much a proper one would be.

As she put it last night "Christmas is a time for me to buy you stuff you need but wouldn't buy yourself".

I'd insist on making one out of a camping mat and find something else for her to give you with the money- I can think of many things around £30 I'd rather have recieved than something I can make myself for a fiver.

Whilst personally I agree, I do feel the proper dew shields are very expensive for what they are, she insisted and for me to decline would be rather ungrateful.
