Partial eclipse from Kaikoura

Lucky enough to be in NZ at the moment, and couldn't miss the partial eclipse; my attempt from the cafe at Whale Watch, Kaikoura raised quite a bit of interest from the staff and whale punters, but it was the most convenient loaction for me. A couple of sets of eclipse glasses kept most happy, apart from a very particular Japanese man who wanted to know everything and then proceeded to aim his camera straight at the sun without any filter!!

This is a single image straight out the camera as my netbook can't cope with much, hope to get a chance to tart them all up a little when home.

Thanks for the comments. What I miss in quality I will make up for in quantity, . I have a better connection so added a sequence; again, all single frames.

Nice pics. I live in Christchurch and had a similar view to yours. Sadly I was working but could still nip out with a solar filter. I hope you get clear skies while your here.
