EQ6 Pier head center bolt

Assuming for now that you are talking about the platform on top of the EQ6 tripod - the centre hole is 30.0mm in diameter for most of its depth but the very bottom is drilled and tapped to accept a 12.0mm bolt. This threaded section keeps the mounting bolt centred but also stops the bolt from simply dropping through the tripod when it is unscrewed from the base of the mount.

Yep, 12mm it is - I used one of these to enable a quick tool-free attach & detach of the mount from a pier: http://www.trend-uk.com/en/UK/product/KB25_M_12/4/213/lever_male_m12x50_adjustable_1_off_.html

Just the info I was frantically searching for! Ordered up M12 bolts in 40, 50 & 60mm just incase, plus some washers :)
