1.25 extensions,do they exist

Like many people on this forum I use ST80 for guiding with SSAG.

There is not enough travel on the focusser to focus the guide camera so I have been using it in the diagonal.

I thought I would get a 1.25 extension to stick it straight in the back and found that no-one seems to keep them in stock.

What does eveyone else use, and where can I get it ?

Did find one on EBay but only 25mm, don't know if that's long enough.

Does your guide cam have a t-thread? The st80 has a t-thread there is a 60 mm extension on Astro boot

Do you have a cheap 2x barlow ? You can normally unscrew the front lens and use it as an extension tube, this is normally enough for the ST80 to reach focus.

I used a Barlow with the lens removed, if its a permenate fixture wrap some self amalgamating tape round the join, stops dew/damp getting in and i done away with the little next to useless knurled knobs.....

Thanks Guys,

I've only got an expensive barlow , but was thinking of buying a cheap one to take apart ,given that so many people use this scope for guiding I would have thought astro shops would keep a couple of extensions in stock.
