Hi, Had exactly the same issue with 550D. When you download the latest dss you do get 3 files. You need to open these with winzip 7 (free download). Exract these files to a folder on your workbench or a new folder in the Download file. Click on the no created DSS files - Application file (5592kb). This works fine with Canon CR2 files. There is no installer at the moment with the latest version of DSS which is why you need winzip to extract. Hope this helps others.

I always convert the raw files to tiff before letting DSS do it's magic. Never had anything good come from stacking raws directly, both with DNG files from a Pentax K500 and CR2 files from a Canon 450D.

Hi, I had the same issue. As above need to download the latest version, which is not self extracting, which is why you will also need Winzip 7 (also a free download) Select the downloaded .rar files and select extract. A list of programs comes up , choose Winzip 7 to excat, save or copy these extracted files to a folder of your choice then run from the Appliction file. This works for sure with Canon 550d and confident will work with 450d.
