Baader Classic Eyepiece Set with Q Turret

FLO

Recommended Posts

Baader recently introduced three new Classic Ortho eyepieces, a 32mm Classic Plossl and a 2.25x Q barlow. All premium quality optics! They have also released a new Baader Q turret and made all the items available together as a Baader Classic Eyepiece set.

If you have recently purchased a telescope and are looking for a premium quality eyepiece set, you have just found it

The attached image shows the Actual Field Of View (area of sky) observed when using the eyepieces with a Skywatcher Explorer 200p Newtonian (the set also includes a 2.25x barlow which further increases the magnifications available).

When used with an Explorer 200p they offer 167x, 100x, 56x & 31x with 1.19mm, 2mm, 3.57mm & 6.4mm exit-pupils.

HTH

The Baader Classic Q Barlow has been added to our website and can be purchased separately or as part of the Baader Classic eyepiece set. It is an interesting design, when fitted to it's 1.25" eyepiece holder it functions as a 2.25x barlow but it can also be unscrewed and fitted direct to an eyepiece where it delivers 1.3x magnification.

Two Barlows in one? That seems a very good price for two.... I must admit I'm a little tempted .

We won't know until it arrives but I doubt it would produce 1.3x when fitted to a binoviewer because the spacing between the barlow and eyepieces will be much longer than when fitted directly to an eyepiece.
