New Focuser

i,m just fitting a new crayford low profile focuser to my 200p newt.

It has a shorter draw tube, being low profile, the holes line up perfectly but there is a gap of a few millimetres between focuser and OTA

is this a problem? I suppose i,m thinking about the truss tube designs which are open to the elements? So should i fit a gasket?

any advice gratefully received.

I think they're designed to fit the 150 , 200 , 250 and 300 tubes so there will be an obvious difference in radii .

Nothing to worry about as the gap can't let light into the focuser tube.

I think i have read about others having the same issue. From what i remember its not a problem.

Either leave the gaps or fill them with a piece of soft foam plastic.

I had this issue and decided to fill the gap with black foam just for completeness.
