Helen
This was taken on 28 September, with a very bright moon. The details are: Atik460 colour camera, WO FLT123 refractor with a 0.8x reducer (so f4.8), IDAS LPR filter, 21 x 300s subs (so 1hr 45mins), flats but no darks or bias. Stacked in DSS and post-processed in CS2. The inital subs had a very brown hue, and I've struggled to process this out. I've reduced the size to smooth it a bit.I like the detail starting to emerge on the cigar, but I thing M81 will need a lot more subs (and no moon) to start to bring out the detail. I would have like to do some Ha for the cigar, but I'm struggling to work out how to put a 1.25 filter in the imaging train! (at the moment its all t-threaded).http://stargazerslounge.com/gallery/sizes/14753-m81-82-process1-small/large/Helen
Ganymede12
The galaxy's are really clear! (Clearer than in any telescope I'll own!) Amazing detail, especially with a full moon!

Tinker1947
One of these Reverlation Astro 2" - 1.25 reducer screws into my 428EX after removing the nose piece, then put your 1.25 filter in a C-thread adapter (they screw onto a Lodestar) so you end up with the Astro converter with a C-thread adapter inside it clamped by the brass band, and a Filter screwed into this, this also only needs a 2" focus tube....I can take some picture of the set-up if i haven't typed it very well......http://www.scopesnsk...ce-adaptor.htmlhttp://www.firstligh...-c-threads.htmlNice image by the way..... Darth Takahashi
Nice start but this is one of those images that really needs a lot of time... If you can, add in some H Alpha too to bring out the shock waves in the cigar
