Serial Ports

Ok my laptop only has 1 serial port which I use via Starrynight pro for slewing my scope, problem is I need an additional port for connecting my DSLR to the laptop so i can use for automation. I have tried making a parallel cable to control the DSLR but needless to say it didn't work

Does anyone know where I can obtain plans to construct a breakout box to add more serial ports?

If not try and mail Andy and ask. He makes loads of diffrent cables. One other option can you not get a serial to usb converter?

The parallel is not as effective as the serial, I found. Go for the Serial-USB for it - works a treat

I ran out of Serial Ports on my obsy PC, so I bought a couple of USB to Serial converters.

They work fine!!.
