Baader wonder fluid?

Hi all,

Just before I jump in and do it, is i ok to use baader cleaning fluid on filters (moon, LP, UV and Solar continuum) or are there any coatings that this can damage?

Yes mate. I was told I could clean my uhc filter and it worked well

Yup. I use it on my filters. Just be as careful as you would with any of your other optics.

Not too sure about this as it does say that you can use bathroom tissue (bog roll) and I always thought this was very abrasive or am I wrong?

Even if it weren't I'd not expect it to be free of dust or any other contaminant that might fly about in the factory. I'd certainly not use it.

I use a lens pen for removing really reluctant dust that won't come off otherwise, or when I can't reach it any other way. I'm always a bit nervous about dirt getting trapped on the pen and scratching the surface. It did a fine job of cleaning a large dust bunny off one of my SPC webcam sensors though.

Best be aware it's only for use on glass optics - FLO advised me it's not for use on mirrors but will do a smashing job on ojectives and eyepiece lenses - and it does!
